Mosaic เป็น Browser แนวความคิดแรกที่มีการใช้อย่างกว้างขวาง ซึ่ง Mosaic มีการใช้ในปี 1993 โดย Marc Andresen ได้รับเครดิตในการคัดค้านและพัฒนา ซึ่งเขาได้พัฒนาที่ National center for Supercompution Application (NCSA) ที่มหาวิทยาลัย Illinois ต่อมา Andresen ได้มาร่วมกับ Netscape Communication และพัฒนา Browser ที่ชื่อว่า Netscape Navigator Browser อื่น ๆ นอกจากนี้ได้แก่ Microsoft Internet Explorer, Lynx, Opera
